The all-new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT debuts the most powerful production model ever made by the Stuttgart-based marque.

During the unveiling of the updated 2025 MY Porsche Taycan EV last month, it appeared that Porsche had intentionally left out one new top-spec variant for its EV saloon. Today, however, the Stuttgart-based marque has finally peeled the wraps off the manic Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which is touted as the most powerful Porsche ever made.

The new Taycan Turbo GT benefits from an upgraded dual-motor AWD setup that is now capable of churning up to 1,092 HP and 1,340 NM.

Previously unveiled in a prototype version that obliterated Tesla Model S Plaid’s Nurburgring record earlier this year, the Taycan Turbo GT is capable of producing up to 1,092 HP (815 kW) and 1,340 NM, courtesy of an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain setup derived from the then top-spec Taycan Turbo S.

Said electric motor setup benefits from a new rear electric motor with a “more powerful and efficient pulse inverter,” while both the transmission ratio and gearbox’s durability have been enhanced to handle the colossal power. This results in the Taycan Turbo GT being the most potent series-production Porsche ever, eclipsing the 918 Spyder by quite a margin.

Porsche claims the new Taycan Turbo GT can do a 0–60 MPH (0–96 KM/H) sprint in just 2.2 seconds, or 2.1 seconds with the optional Weissach package. Meanwhile, 0-200 KM/H reads at 6.6 seconds, while its V-Max is capped at 306 KM/H.

Another highlight for the Taycan Turbo GT is the new Attack Mode, which unlocks an extra 160 HP (120 kW) of power for 10 seconds. Inspired by the Formula E racers, this new mode is essentially an improved version of the standard Taycan’s “push-to-pass” function, where drivers can easily engage them via the right paddle shifter.

The Taycan Turbo GT is noticeably sportier and more aggressive than its lower-specced siblings, thanks to the addition of several aero parts and a massive rear wing.

Aside from the manic powertrain setup, the performance-focused Taycan Turbo GT is also blessed with a slew of aerodynamic and chassis upgrades. For starters, the manic Taycan gets a sportier body kit comprising a prominent front splitter, a rear diffuser, and several air deflectors, with the massive rear wing with a Gurney flap completing its sporty GT look.

Should you desire your EV saloon to be more track-oriented, the optional Weissach package further reduces the Taycan Turbo GT’s weight by eliminating the rear seats and replacing them with carbon fibre bulkheads. With this package, the Taycan Turbo GT is capable of generating a total downforce of 220 KG.

Aside from the improved chassis and aerodynamics, the new Taycan Turbo GT also comes with two new colourways, while riding on 21-inch lightweight forged rims.

The chassis and aero tweak continue with the improved version of the Porsche Active Ride suspension setup with Turbo GT-specific tuning and a reinforced ceramic braking system. Elsewhere on the exterior, the new Taycan Turbo GT also comes with a slew of carbon fibre trims, six exterior colourways including the new Pale Blue Metallic and Purple Sky Metallic, and a set of lightweight 21-inch forged wheels it rolls on.

On board, the Taycan Turbo GT comes standard with Race-Tex and black leather upholstery that engulf the whole cabin, including the 18-way adjustable Adaptive Sports Seats and the GT Sport steering wheel. The Turbo GT emblem is present on both the car’s headrests as well as on the central console. Should the all-black theme seem too dull for you, other colour and material options are also available.

Clocking in at 1:27.87, the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is officially the fastest production EV to lap the infamous Laguna Seca racetrack.

All these improvements garnered for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT not only made it their most potent model yet, but also enabled this manic EV saloon to break several records. The Taycan Turbo GT holds the title as the “fastest electric series-production car” to lap the infamous Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca track by clocking a lap time of 1:27.87.

Meanwhile, its pre-production prototype also managed to break Tesla Model S Plaid’s Nurburgring record by a significant margin of 18 seconds, achieving a remarkable lap time of 7:07.55 around the Green Hell. However, its stellar lap time was still not enough to dethrone the Rimac Nevera as the fastest production EV to lap the Nurburgring, with the Taycan Turbo GT only falling 2.25 seconds short of the hypercar’s lap time.

As expected, the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is now the most expensive Taycan you can buy today.

Deliveries for the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT are expected to commence later in summer 2024 for selected international markets like Europe, the US, and more. Pricing for this manic EV saloon starts at $230,000 (RM1.076 million, approx.) for the US market, making it the most expensive Taycan model to date.
