Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, the Chief Minister of Perak, confirmed the registration of a new highway project with the Ministry of Finance earlier this week. This announcement was made during the Loki Solar Power Plant's inauguration event, and construction is slated to commence after the WISE Highway line is completed.

Saarani revealed that the highway project, which will span from Tanjung Malim to Lumut, is one of ten initiatives set to be implemented following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent visit to Perak.

Saarani adds that the project's start date will coincide with the development of Tanjung Malim's High-Tech Automotive Valley (AHTV), and that completion will take time. This infrastructure development intends to improve logistics transit to the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC).

Saarani emphasised the importance of the 50 Megawatt Loki Solar Power Plant in promoting the adoption of clean and sustainable energy practices across the state.

Furthermore, Saarani highlighted the importance of the first step towards establishing the Kerian area as a hub for high-tech and environmentally friendly innovations, in line with the government's aim for the Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP).
