Audi RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years Debuts As Audi’s Wagon Swansong
The limited-edition Audi RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years breaks cover to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Audi’s original fast wagon, the Audi RS4 Avant quattro B5.
Audi is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original RS4 wagon by launching a special edition model based on the current-gen model, known as the Audi RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years. This limited-edition wagon features an uprated version of the RS4 Avant’s twin-turbo V6 mill, plus some additional performance upgrades to make it a worthy wagon swansong for the brand.
Starting with the visuals, the RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years is draped in the same striking Imola Yellow hue used on the original RS4, alongside the more discreet Nardo Grey and Mythos Black options. Also present here are a slew of glossy black accents, special black inlays in its LED taillights, and several carbon fibre touches to the bodykit courtesy of the Carbon matte appearance package, while riding on 20-inch forged alloy wheels finished in a matching matte black hue.
Keen eyes will notice that the Edition 25 model omits the standard RS4 Avant’s roof rails for a sleeker and sportier look, while the discreet ‘RS4 Edition 25 Years’ lettering engraved on the rear side windows also helps to differentiate this special edition model over its standard twin.
The yellow theme continues as we get inside the Edition 25 model’s cabin, with its standard black upholstery made from leather, Dinamica, and Alcantara being contrasted with striking yellow stitchings. Besides the standard RS bucket front seats and the sporty flat-bottom RS steering wheel, the Edition 25 wagon also comes with a special numbering plate at the central console, while its digital instrument cluster comes with special graphics that mimic the original RS4’s white-hued cluster dials.
The special RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years gets an uprated version of the standard model's twin-turbo V6 mill.
As we mentioned earlier, the limited-edition Audi RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years gets a slew of performance upgrades to go along with its improved aesthetics. For starters, its familiar 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 mill has been tweaked to produce 20 HP more than the standard model, with its total system output now reading at 464 HP and 600 NM.
Paired with an improved Torsen differential and new mapping for its 8-speed automatic gearbox, this special RS4 wagon can go a 0-100 KM/H sprint 0.4 second faster than the standard model at 3.7 seconds, while its top speed is maxed at 300 KM/H flat.
Said power boosts are complemented by several chassis and mechanical tweaks, including the new manually-adjustable coilover suspensions that bring the wagon 10 MM closer to the ground and stiffer control arms, while the wagon’s negative camber on the front has been increased by two degrees.
Other performance equipment included with this special RS4 Avant are the sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres alongside the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS racing slicks featuring sensors for the Pirelli Track Adrenaline system, Audi Sport’s carbon ceramic brakes, the RS Sport exhaust system, and many more.
With only 250 units set to be produced, the limited-edition Audi RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years will be launched exclusively for European markets, alongside the special, 250-unit-only Audi RS5 Sportback Performance Edition. Prices start at €142,905 (RM728,931) for the special RS4 Avant, while the RS5 Sportback Performance Edition is tagged lower at €128,420 (RM655,046).
