Kineta has launched its very own mobile app - KINETA Charge.

It promises to revolutionise EV charging convenience in Malaysia through excellent service, seamless processes, and innovative technology.

Furthermore, in response to changing consumer needs, Kineta is committed to extending its network by including more charging stations from its partners, thereby boosting the availability of charging sites nationwide.

Based on our findings, the KINETA Charge app operates as both a standalone app for Kineta-branded chargers and an aggregator, onboarding other charge point operators (CPO) and private entities through a roaming relationship.

Having downloaded and viewed the app, we at CariCarz.com found the entire sign-up procedure to be quite seamless and speedy, as were the app's functions and user experience. The app's map display is available through either Waze or Google Maps, providing users some control over their preferred navigation source.

However, as the app is new, it currently only shows four (4) locations with charger availability, and only the two locations with AC Chargers (Grand Hyatt Hotel, KL and ECORIDE Mydin Subang Jaya) appear to be operational at RM0.10/min. The other two DC Charger locations at Sime Darby Motor City, Ara Damansara, are somehow still offline and no rates are shown on the app yet.

Furthermore, the KINETA Charge app provides users with a variety of payment options which includes e-wallets like GrabPay and Touch 'n Go. We were informed that debit and credit card payments would be available soon.

Aside from that, the KINETA Charge app would also provide standard EV charging app functions such as charging session start stop, as well as detailed invoicing and payment receipts with clearly displayed rates and charges.

Meanwhile, for corporate customers, KINETA Charge has created the Charging Management System (CMS) module - said to be the first on the market. This module allow corporate customers to customise things by changing the charger pictures, define variable pricing based on location and promotional times to reward users. The CMS module would also provide numerous management reports according to their business needs.

Moving forward, we were also informed that pretty soon the KINETA Charge app would soon support app-free plug and charge that only require users to sign-up for the first time and perform wallet reloads only.

In Malaysia, you can now download the KINETA Charge app from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
