- Melaka Set To Welcome Malaysia’s First International RC Car Circuit
In case you weren't aware, Malaysia is home to a sizeable RC cars community.
Good news for avid local remote control (RC) car hobbysists and enthusiasts. According to a recent report by Bernama, the Melaka state government has approved plans to build Malaysia’s first international standard RC car circuit in said historic city-state.
This circuit will be built on a one-hectare sector site near Tanjung Bidara beach in Nov. Additionally, the Melaka State Youth and Sports Department has identified a suitable location for the project, and it is currently seeking sponsors to assist in materialising the project.
“W are currently looking for sponsors to be involved in the facility upgrade project there and the circuit is expected to be fully completed within 18 months,” said Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

This special project saw the Melaka state government receive approval for a RM300,000 budget allocation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) after its initial proposal was completed last year.
The circuit is expected to be used by RC car enthusiasts and it could also serve as a training center for fans of the sport.
Moreover, the state government is also planning to develop a recreational vehicle center near the location. This has also prompted works to upgrade surrounding facilities, including stalls, to make the resort more attractive and focused for tourists. KR
