ECRL Feeder Station Electrification Awarded To Malaysia-Indonesia Consortium
Ann Joo Resources Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ann Joo Metal Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM297.90 million construction contract from a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd. According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the contract comes from Tenaga Switchgear Sdn Bhd and involves the electrification of feeder stations along the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) in Terengganu and Pahang.
The filing states that Ann Joo’s unit, in collaboration with its consortium partner, Indonesia’s PT Lumintu Insan Mandiri, has been awarded the design and build project for the electrification of the feeder stations. This includes constructing a 132kV switching station, installing overhead transmission lines, laying underground cables, and performing associated works.
The feeder stations included in the project are FS03-Sg Tong, Terengganu; FS04-Merchang, Terengganu; FS05 Kemasek, Terengganu; FS07-Gambang, Pahang; and FS08-Maran, Pahang.
The ECRL electrification project is expected to be completed by May 31, 2026, and is anticipated to positively impact the group’s revenue and earnings for the financial years 2024 and 2025.
