- Kuantan Now Has Tesla 250kW Supercharging Station - RM1.25/kWh
Tesla opened its first Supercharging station in Kuantan, Pahang, located at Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan on Jalan Tanah Putih. This new station would finally put Tesla owners in Kuantan at ease while also meeting the charging demands of others travelling to the East Coast.
The Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan Supercharging Station has four Superchargers. This is Pahang's first Supercharging station, representing a big step towards improving electric vehicle charging accessibility and convenience in the region.
However, keep in mind that the Superchargers installed here are V3 rather than the latest V4, as seen in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. This facility would also be a pure Supercharging station, with no Destination charging options available.
Charging rate is fixed at RM1.25 per kWh. There will also be an idle cost of RM4/min (when the Supercharging Station is 100% occupied). Furthermore, this facility is located on the ground level and does not charge for parking.
Tesla users may use the Tesla App to find, navigate to, and track their charging session, with payments handled seamlessly owing to Tesla's Plug-In, Charge, and Go concept.
Tesla currently has 11 Supercharging stations (52 chargers) and 11 Destination Charging stations (57 chargers) in Malaysia. All of these charging stations remain solely for Tesla users, and Tesla has until 2026 before it is required to open up 30% (down from the initial 50 agreed upon) of its Superchargers to non-Tesla EVs.
