- Lynk & Co Z10 Breaks Cover As Brand’s First All-Electric Model
The all-new Lynk & Co Z10 debuts as the brand's first all-electric model
As one of Geely’s more high-end sub-brands, Lynk & Co has always been considered the counterpart of Zeekr, with the latter focusing more on all-electric products, while the former delves more on ICE-based models with an extra focus on motorsports. However, the lines between both marques will get blurrier as Lynk & Co has unveiled its first-ever all-electric model, cordially known as the Lynk & Co Z10.
Pronounced "z-one-zero," the new Z10 EV measures 5,028 MM long, 1,966 MM wide, 1,468 MM tall, and has a wheelbase exceeding three metres at 3,005 MM. This makes the Z10 larger than several household names in the performance EV saloon segment, such as the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, and Audi e-tron GT.
Visually, the Z10 is a stunner to look at, featuring the same design language we saw on other Lynk & Co models. This includes its sharp LED headlights with a design inspired by the talons of a bird, the low-sloping roofline that gives it a distinctive sporty look, and its tailgate that looks similar to those found on the 07 EM-P, the marque’s latest plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sedan model.
As expected in any China-badged EV, the Z10’s cabin is laden with tech amenities, all laid out in a quite minimalistic manner. Key pieces of equipment present here include the main 14.5-inch infotainment display, a slim digital instrument cluster with a head-up display (HUD), and many more. Said infotainment system runs on an Nvidia Orin-X chipset that pairs with its external Lidars and sensors to allow the Z10 to have some autopilot capabilities.
Just like many other Geely-owned EV models, the Lynk & Co Z10 underpins the same Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform used on Volvo and Lotus EVs, featuring an 800-volt battery architecture. While Lynk & Co has yet to reveal the juicy performance bits, the automaker claims the Z10 can do a 0-100 KM/H sprint in just 3.5 seconds while being capable of traveling more than 800 KM on a single full charge.
Speaking of charging, the Z10 also supports ultra-fast charging capabilities at an undisclosed rate, courtesy of its 800-volt battery architecture. Lynk & Co further claims that a 15-minute charge allows the Z10 to have 573 KM of EV range.
While the all-new Lynk & Co Z10 EV made its global debut in Gothenburg, Sweden, earlier this week, we have yet to receive any confirmation regarding its availability in Europe or other international markets. According to CarNewsChina, however, this sporty EV saloon will likely start from CNY 200,000 (RM130,000 approx.) onwards in its native Chinese market, making it quite a bargain considering the features and styling it comes with.
