Art of Speed 2024 Bows Out by Celebrating Malaysia’s ‘Kustom Kulture’
The 13th annual Art of Speed bows out in style, with this year’s edition featuring multiple international acts.
The 13th annual Art of Speed Malaysia (AOSM) festival has finally come to a very positive conclusion. Taking place last weekend from July 27 to 28 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS), this year’s edition has gathered a host of international and regional acts with the theme “Stop the Violence” to promote love and solidarity without borders.
RXZ Twin Boss V2 custom bike built by Irwann Cheng from FNG Works
One of the biggest competitions that took place during AOSM this year was the Art of Speed Invitational Bike Build Off 2024, which featured 10 talented builders. The overall jury pick winner and public choice were unanimously awarded to Irwann Cheng from FNG Works with their amazing RXZ Twin Boss V2.
FNG Works took home a RM5,000 cash prize for the public choice award and will have their custom bike shipped to Japan for the 32nd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024 as the jury pick winner.
On the other hand, the AOS special award for the Best of Show motorcycle was won by Pa’din Musa with his unique 1969 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead. Just like the bike build-off champion, Pa’din has also won himself a package trip to the 32nd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024 as the guest of honour.
The 2nd How Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia also took place at the AOS 2024.
Besides the bike build-off, the 2nd Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia also took place during AOSM 2024. Held at Hall C of the MAEPS complex, the convention marked the launch of the first ever convention exclusive die-cast model from the Mattel factory for Malaysia, which was unveiled by Hot Wheels Vehicle Design Manager Dwayne Vance.
This year’s AOSM also marked a special collaboration with Selangor FC (SFC) in support of SFC’s “Stop the Violence” campaign, crossing over from football to automotive lifestyle. Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari attended the event on Sunday to officiate the collaboration and was given a special tour of the festival.
Last but not least, the lucky draw giveaway for this year’s AOSM featured two grand prizes. On Saturday, the first grand prize of one paid Japan trip to the 32nd Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024 was awarded to Fitri Wahyudi B. Suparno. Meanwhile, the second grand prize was given on Sunday, where one Honda Jazz specially built by QARTEL TV was given away to Muhammad Farish B. Mohd Fadzil.
