The all-new MG Cyber GTS Concept made a surprise debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

While MG previously teased the upcoming second-gen MG HS SUV earlier this month, it appears that the Sino-British marque has an ace under its sleeve for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Essentially a fixed-roof version of the Cyberster, the Cyber GTS Concept shares many of its design traits with the aforementioned EV roadster.

Debuting alongside its new SUV model is the MG Cyber GTS Concept, a new two-door EV sportscar prototype that serves as a preview of a coupe version of the Cyberster EV roadster. This fixed-roof MG Cyberster shares many similarities with its topless twin, including its whole front end, both the front and rear bumpers, as well as all the lighting units.

The biggest difference between the two obviously lies in the roof design, as the Cyber GTS Concept gets a sportier hard roof instead of a fabric soft-top on the Cyberster roadster. Unlike the roadster, the Cyber GTS coupe gets a longer, swooping roof that goes all the way to its tailgate, giving it a fastback-ish look.

Unfortunately, MG has yet to reveal any interior details or images of the Cyber GTS Concept, although we can expect them to be somewhat similar to the Cyberster’s innards. Funnily, MG’s refusal to unveil any interior details also piques our curiosity that this EV coupe concept might sport a 2+2 seating layout instead of strictly being a two-seater, as the fixed roof setup allows it to have more interior space.

We can expect the production version of the Cyber GTS Concept to get the same all-electric powertrain setup as the Cyberster EV.

More importantly, MG insisted that the Cyber GTS Concept won’t be a mere design study, as the automaker said that the concept has a huge potential to enter its production line alongside the Cyberster. Again, the Sino-British refrained from releasing any performance or powertrain details of this new coupe EV, but given its similarities to the Cyberster, we can expect them to get the same setup as the aforementioned EV roadster.

For reference, the MG Cyberster EV convertible comes in both single-motor RWD and dual-motor RWD variants, with the former peaking at 335 HP (250 kW) and the latter getting a higher total system output of 536 HP (400 kW). Regardless of variants, the Cyberster is juiced by the same 77-kWh battery pack that grants it up to 503 KM of EV range, at least according to the more lenient NEDC standards.

Should MG eventually decide to evolve the Cyber GTS Concept into a production model, this new EV coupe is poised to go against the likes of the upcoming Porsche Cayman all-electric successor, while its roadster twin will head against the new Boxster EV in the near future.
