- German Opel Introduces Hybrid Technology Across Its Range
German automaker Opel has unveiled a new range of 48-volt hybrid cars that offer better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.
These hybrid vehicles, which range in model from Corsa to Grandland, combine an electric motor with a capacity of 21 kW with a combustion engine. The latest addition is the Opel Frontera Hybrid, an affordable and family-friendly SUV with advanced hybrid technology.
Priced in Germany at €23,900 (MYR 112,077), the Frontera Hybrid saves a lot of fuel without requiring charging or affecting driving habits. Opel's 48-volt hybrid technology provides an intelligent way for drivers to cut back on emissions and fuel use. These hybrid vehicles enable smooth driving by synchronizing the electric motor and combustion engine.
Whereas the petrol engine guarantees maximum performance right from the start, the electric motor at low speeds allows for fully electric travel. In order to give drivers more customization options, the system also comes with three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Opel's hybrid vehicles are made to provide drivers with data tailored specifically for hybrid vehicles. The energy status, operating mode, and other details are highlighted on the driver information display.
A permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery are also included in the system, all of which work in concert to optimize efficiency.
With these developments, Opel maintains its position as a leader in hybrid technology, providing useful and effective solutions for contemporary drivers.
