Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai verified that the contractor had fulfilled all specifications and gained the backing of the majority of stakeholders. The soil testing for the construction of the mechanical parking bay structure had been finished and the results had been submitted to DBKL. "Once approved, he said construction of the mechanical parking bays would commence, introducing Malaysia’s first-of-its-kind system under a flyover" , he added. The system, which aims to improve connectivity between Sungai Besi Highway and the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, will include 80 parking bays, increasing capacity by 60%.

An automated vertical stacking system will be used by the mechanical parking system, and Tan stated that the bays' height will range from two to three decks, contingent upon the flyover's height.
Plans for these bays were initiated following the government's decision to proceed with the RM96 million flyover widening project despite stakeholder objections last year.
