- Leapmotor C10 Asia Pacific Shipments Begin Ahead of 16 Oct Malaysia Launch
Stellantis Malaysia is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of the Leapmotor C10, scheduled for 16 Oct 2024. The C10, Leapmotor’s first global product, is set to put forward cutting-edge vehicle technology to the local market.
Leapmotor, which is 51% owned by Stellantis, is the third-largest Chinese EV start-up with over 460,000 cumulative deliveries as of Sept 2024.
Anticipating strong demand, the first batch of C10 SUVs has already been shipped from Shanghai to ports across the Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia. In turn, this marks a significant milestone in Leapmotor’s global expansion.
The C10 showcases Leapmotor's pioneering LEAP 3.0 architecture that houses a single rear e-motor delivering 215 HP juiced by a 69.9 kWh LFP battery pack. This setup offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 420 KM on a full charge, and positions the C10 as a strong contender in the D-segment electric SUV space, directly competing with models like the XPeng G6.
Based on details shared by Stellantis, the export version of the C10 is set to boast Maserati-tuned ride and handling on top of an advanced cell-to-chassis (CTC) technology incorporated into its EV architecture.
Furthermore, the C10 has also garnered international praise for its sleek design, including prestigious awards like the “2023 International CMF Design Award. The C10 has also been awarded a 5-star E-NCAP safety rating.
Stellantis has also expressed plans to release at least one new Leapmotor model each year over the next three years, reinforcing its long-term vision of transforming electric mobility in the region.
