- Gentari Activates 150kW DCFC At Repurposed Kerteh NGV Station
Gentari, in collaboration with JomCharge, has energised its latest dedicated EV charging station at a repurposed Petronas NGV filling station in Rantau, Kerteh, Terengganu.
This marks a significant development for the East Coast area of the country, where EV charging infrastructure is still sparse.
The station features two Kempower DC satellite units, each primed with two nozzles capable of delivering 150kW of juice. While 150kW shared between four nozzles might seem modest, it's important to consider the grid power limitations typical of most petrol stations.
For Kerteh, where the closest DC fast charger is a 50kW unit at Kelab Golf Rekreasi Petronas some 15 minutes away, and other chargers are at least an hour's drive, this new facility is a much-needed addition.
The charging rate is set at RM1.50/kWh, aligning with the informal standard adopted by most charging point operators (CPOs). While the Autocharge feature isn't available yet, it will be introduced soon.
These chargers are already accessible via both the Gentari Go and ChargEV apps. However, users should be mindful that the ChargEV app lists five charging points, though there are only four nozzles, so select carefully before activating.
