Gentari has taken a significant step forward for EV users with the introduction of Go Trip Planner, a powerful new feature in its Gentari Go mobile app. Designed to make long-distance travels easier, this update positions the app as an indispensable tool for EV owners, especially for interstate journeys.

For many EV owners, particularly those new to EVs, planning long trips can be daunting. Third-party apps like PlugShare and A Better Route Planner (ABRP) have traditionally been the go-to solutions for locating charging stations and addressing range anxiety.

Now, Go Trip Planner consolidates these functions into a single, user-friendly platform, simplifying the planning process.

What makes the Go Trip Planner stand out is its comprehensive network coverage. It displays all available charging stations along a chosen route, including Gentari’s own chargers and those of its roaming partners, ChargEV and JomCharge.

This ensures users have access to one of the widest charging networks in Malaysia, offering flexibility to choose stops that best fit their travel needs.

Built on the principle of “charge when stopped, not stopped to charge,” the app encourages users to incorporate charging into natural breaks during their journey, such as stopping for meals. This approach not only saves time but also maximises convenience.

Moreover, the app optimises charging efficiency by encouraging multiple short stops instead of full-charging in one go. As EV enthusiasts know, vehicles charge faster within their optimum charging curve, making shorter sessions both quicker and more cost-effective.

Additional features include real-time data such as charger availability, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) status, and peak usage times for Gentari chargers. These updates help users avoid delays and ensure smoother journeys.

Currently available to Power Pass subscribers in early access, Go Trip Planner is set to roll out to the general public soon. This will allow all EV owners in Malaysia to benefit from the app's seamless trip-planning capabilities.

As Gentari continues to expand its charging infrastructure and refine the Go Trip Planner, the app is poised to play a crucial role in promoting sustainable, stress-free EV adoption across Malaysia.
