- Perodua Sold 358,102 Units In 2024, Marking New All-Time High
Perodua has revealed its 2024 sales and production figures, and both see the second national automaker chart historic new all-time highs.
Earlier today, we reported on the 2024 sales figures released by first national carmaker Proton. Not one to be outdone, Rawang-based rivals Perodua has released their 2024 sales figures today too, and it sees the second national automaker chart historic and new highs.
According to Perodua, the firm recorded 358,102 units sold throughout 2024. This marks an 8.4% increase from its efforts in 2023 where it shifted 330,325 units. The automaker ended the year on a high note too with 32,202 vehicles sold in Dec 2024 alone.
In 2024, Perodua did not launch any new models. Instead, the firm retained the bulk of its line-up, electing only to 'renew' its Aruz three-row crossover SUV offering pictured.

The rest of Perodua's range, which consists of models like the Axia, Alza, Ativa and Myvi, all remained unchanged in 2024.
Overall, these figures are impressive indeed. However, the fact that Perodua achieved this without launching a single brand new model all-year long makes it arguably an outstanding feat. As a refresher, Perodua only ‘renewed’ its Aruz three-row crossover offering in 2024.
Apart from which, Perodua previewed an upcoming new all-electric (EV) hatch model offering through both its emo-1 EV Concept and its eMO-II Concept follow up in 2024. A final production version of which is expected to by the final quarter of 2025 too.
2024 also saw Perodua enter the EV arena with its emo-1 EV concept (left) and eMO-II Concept (right). A final production version is widely tipped to debut by the final quarter of 2025.

On the subject of new products, Perodua is also widely tipped to launch its version of the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid compact crossover SUV sometime this year too. The model was initially due for market arrival last year, but was shelved due to the fallout of the Daihatsu scandal.
Besides sales, Perodua also saw record growth in its production volume too. In fact, the firm produced 368,100 vehicles throughout 2024, marking yet another historic new all-time high here too. This also marks a 7.2% increase from the previous year’s 343,400 units produced.
“We have expanded far beyond our installed capacity of 320,000 units, showcasing dynamic synchronisation in meeting our shared objectives,” said Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad. He continued by further noting how the achievement proves “quality and quantity can move hand in hand” when they communicate and coordinate well.

Furthermore, Datuk Seri Zainal also estimated that Perodua captured 44% of the Total Industry Volume (TIV), which broke the 800,000 units mark for the first time at an estimated 814,000 units estimated. “Based on the same numbers, we estimate that Perodua was the main growth driver last year,” said Datuk Seri Zainal further.
Looking ahead, Perodua expects 2025 to offer both new challenges and opportunities, as well as heightened competition from new entries in the market.
