Goldman Sachs updated their Xiaomi EV sales projection, predicting significant expansion and financial success in the upcoming years. Under Timothy Zhao's leadership, the bank’s analysts now project that Xiaomi will sell 350,000 EVs in 2025 and 655,000 in 2026.
Considered a significant figure for an EV startup, Xiaomi's EV journey started in March 2024 when its first EV, the SU7 sedan, went on sale. With prices ranging from RMB 215,900 (about MYR 132,000) to RMB 299,900 (roughly MYR 184,000), the SU7 is priced to suit a broad variety of budgets and comes in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max.

A high-performance version, the SU7 Ultra, which costs RMB 814,900 (about MYR 500,000), was later announced by the company.
With a product line that begins with the SU7 and expands into possibly larger markets, the team believes Xiaomi's EVs strategy should result in long-term growth and profitability.  In October of last year, Xiaomi's Malaysian arm decided to display one SU7 unit here. The company, however, has no plans to sell the SU7 model in our local EV market.

The YU7 SUV, Xiaomi's second EV, is scheduled to go on sale in the middle of 2025. Xiaomi's EV sales are anticipated to increase as a result of its entry into the well-liked SUV market.
Additionally, the business has been making significant investments in its production capacity. By June 2025, a new plant in Beijing's Yizhuang is scheduled to be completely operational, capable of producing 300,000 vehicles annually.

Xiaomi's ultimate objective is to launch its human-car-home ecosystem concept worldwide, going beyond simply selling automobiles. Xiaomi is in a unique position to lead premium Chinese EV exports since it is one of the few businesses that can produce both vehicles and smartphones while still having a sizable user base and great brand influence.
This approach has the ability to change how people view Chinese automakers in the global premium market in addition to offering the prospect of market access.
