- All BYD Models Set To Feature ‘God’s Eye’ ADAS System
BYD recently launched its latest driving assistance system (ADAS) called “God’s Eye”.
This tech, effectively, enables every BYD model, including entry level offerings like the Seagull priced at RMB 69,800 (RM 43,000), to feature high-end intelligent driving tech.
“God’s Eye” will be offered across three levels, each utilising up to three LiDAR sensors.
The entry-level “God’s Eye C” system will be implemented in cars under the BYD brand. It relies on a three-camera cluster behind the windshield and is powered by the DiPilot 100 system, offering 100 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of computing power.
The hardware here also includes 12 cameras (front-view, panoramic, and surround-view), five mm-wave radars providing 360-deg perception and 12 ultrasonic radars with centimeter-level accuracy for precise parking and obstacle detection.
Meanwhile the mid-tier system, “God’s Eye B,” will include a LiDAR sensor for enhanced perception. This system will be featured in the Denza range and some flagship BYD models. It is powered by the DiPilot 300 system with a computing power of 300 TOPS.
The range-topping “God’s Eye A” instead uses three LiDAR sensors and is powered by the DiPilot 600 system that boasts a computing power of 600 TOPS. This advanced system will be used in vehicles under BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang.
Recently to demonstrate “God’s Eye A”, BYD showcased a Yangwang U9 electric supercar complete a full circuit run both during the day and at night at the Hunan Zhuzhou International Circuit without a driver.
Historically, BYD’s intelligent driving systems were seen as lagging behind competitors in China. However, the company’s latest advancements aim to close this gap. Chairman Wang Chuanfu highlights their edge in data and talent, noting BYD operates the largest car cloud database in China.
With 110,000 engineers — 5,000 of whom specialising in intelligent driving —BYD’s ADAS training mileage reached 72 million KM/day in 2024. Wang predicts that in the next two to three years, intelligent driving would become an essential feature for new car buyers.
In total, 21 BYD models — including those from the Dynasty and Ocean series, as well as Denza and Yangwang — will come equipped with the “God’s Eye” ADAS system.
Best of all, unlike Tesla, all models will include these assisted driving features free of charge.
