Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced a 50% toll discount for highway users.

This discount applies specifically on March 28 and 29 in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive holidays.

The Minster clarified that this discount will see the government compensate highway concessionaires RM19.69 million. The initiative aims to ease travel costs and reduce congestion, allowing motorists to plan their journeys better.

The discount applies to Class 1 private vehicles at all toll plazas except the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) Toll Plaza on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway (LINKEDUA).

"This initiative continues the MADANI government's festive toll assistance, which has been provided for all four major festivals in Peninsular Malaysia since 2023. It aligns with our core values of Well-being and Compassion by helping to ease the cost of living," said Nanta Linggi during a press conference in Ayer Keroh.

To ensure a smooth journey, motorists are advised to follow travel time advisories, maintain sufficient balance in their eWallets and Touch 'n Go cards, and use the Malaysian Highway Authority’s CCTV live feed for real-time traffic updates.
