Hari Raya Aidilfitri Toll Discount to be Announced Soon – Govt

The government is set to make an announcement soon regarding the proposed toll discount for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The Malaysian government is set to make an announcement regarding the proposed toll discount for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season soon. This was confirmed by Works Minister (KKR) YB Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, where the same method would also be used to decide on the toll discount, just like last Chinese New Year.

“Of course, we will have a toll discount. We have done it for Chinese New Year, it would be absurd if we don’t do it for Aidilfitri,” Nanta told Bernama after attending the ministry’s top management meeting with Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Kompleks Kerja Raya yesterday.
The proposed toll discount scheme will be the same as last Chinese New Year, where a 50% discount will be given to ease the burden of Malaysians going back to their hometown during this festive season.

However, Nanta said the toll discount was not discussed in said meeting with PMX, but instead he insisted that the Prime Minister gave more emphasis on the need for the implementation of every project in the country to be expedited, in addition to ensuring that it is worth the expenditure incurred.
“We take note of what the Prime Minister wants and his suggestions about having a sense of urgency, the cost of doing business, and getting value for money in all our projects,” the Works Minister said.
