Launched: Xpeng X9: 3 Variants, Up To 590 KM Range, From RM269,888
Bermaz Xpeng (BAuto) ofifcially launched the new Xpeng X9 premium EV MPV range earlier today.
Initially teased and previewed back in Jan before Registration of Interest (ROI) opened recently, the new Xpeng X9 premium EV MPV was officially launched earlier today. Introduced by importers and distributors BAuto via its Bermaz Xpeng arm, three variants were announced.
The Xpeng X9 range starts with a base-spec Standard Range 2WD Pro guise priced at RM269,888, followed by a Long Range 2WD Pro guise tagged at RM287,888, whilst a range-topping Long Range 2WD Pro Plus guise caps things off at RM299,888 (base prices, excluding insurance and on-road costs).
Typical of BAuto (Bermaz), prices stated include comprehensive after-sales support via a 3-year free scheduled maintenance package, a five-year or 120,000 KM base vehicle warranty, as well as eight-year or 160,000 KM EV battery and motor warranties.
Three variants of the Xpeng X9 are on offer, and prices start from RM269,888 onwards.
Mechanically, all three variants feature a single front e-motor with 315 HP and 450 NM outputs plus front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration. All also ride on the same 800-volt SEPA 2.0 platform architecture and sees two battery size and types available – 84.5 kWh LFP and 101.5 kWh NMC.
Aptly, the Standard Range 2WD Pro guise gets the smaller capacity battery pack, and promises up to 500 KM of WLTP-rated range. Opt for either Long Range guises noted and the larger NMC-type pack primed in both promises to go even further – up to 590 KM (WLTP) is touted.
Additionally, the Xpeng X9 supports “3C fast charging” abilities, meaning its DC fast-charging ability stands roughly three times its battery capacity figure. This explains this EV MPV’s ability to accept up to 317 kW DC charging inputs and deliver 10-80% recharges in just 20 minutes.
Highlights of the Xpeng X9's interior include a massive 21.4-inch entertainment display, powered and foldable third-row seats, 'Zero Gravity' massage seats, as well as a 23-speaker X-Opera audio suite, amongst many.
Moving to the cabin, all variants share the same three-row, seven-seat layout. One highlight here is the ‘Zero Gravity’ massage seats. If needed, the powered third-row seats can be folded down to expand luggage capacity from 755 litres to a whopping 2,554 litres.
As for upholstery, the base- and mid-spec variants feature faux-leather whilst the range-topper gains full-gain Nappa leather instead. Additionally, two interior colourway options are available too – Starry Night Black and Moon Shadow Brown.
Other notable features primed on board include a massive 21.4-inch entertainment display, customisable cabin ambient lighting module, 23-speaker X-Opera audio suite, as well as a smart refrigerator, amongst others.
The Xpeng X9 also sees its chassis primed with both an active RWS system enabling tight 5.4-metre turning radius, as well as a dual-chamber air suspension system promising enhanced ride comforts and refinement.
Via the Xpeng mobile app, users can also access the X9's EAP 2.0 and AEP with Straight Summon features for added convenience.
For drivers, the presence of an active rear-wheel-steering (RWS) system promises enhanced agility plus a tight 5.4-metre turning radius. Next comes the added presence of dual-chamber air suspension promising unrivalled ride comforts.
As for safety, the new Xpeng X9 covers this front well via the inclusion of the Xpilot 2.5 ADAS suite powered by the Nvidia Orin-X chipset, hi-def radar, ultrasonic sensors, as well as a 360-degree high-def camera system.
This brings Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with stop-go function, Lane Centering Control (LCC), Lane Keeping assist (LKA) Adaptive Turning Cruise (ATC), Active Lane Change (ALC), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (SAS), Blind-Spot Detection (BSD), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEV),and more.
The Xpeng X9 sees three exterior hues available - Crescent Silver, Dark Knight Black, and Nebula White.
On top which too comes both Enhanced Auto Parking Assist (EAP 2.0) and Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP) with Straight Summon functions, and these are also accessible via the Xpeng mobile app.
Available for viewing and bookings at authorised dealers now, the new Xpeng X9 sees three striking exterior hues offered – Nebula White, Crescent Silver, and Dark Knight Black.
