- Proton Feb 2025 Sales Surpasses 11,000 Units
National automaker Proton saw its sales figures bounce back up in Feb 2024 with over 11,000 units shifted.
National automaker Proton closed Feb 2025 on a more positive note versus the previous month as its sales volume increased to 11,232 units. In contrast, Proton’s Jan 2025 figure stood lower at 9,914 units.
“There is some lingering uncertainty regarding buyer liquidity but for now, our volumes are on an upward trend. Therefore, as a whole, Proton continues to chase sales volumes for our range of ICE products while setting the pace in the electric vehicle (EV) market,” notes Proton deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah.
As usual, the evergreen Proton Saga made up for the lion's share of the automaker's Feb 2025 sales - over 5,000 units were sold last month.
The X50 RC (left) stands as Proton's second best-seller with 1,824 units shifted last month. The S70 sedan (right), on the other hand, leads the C-segment sedans space with a total of 2,340 units sold through Jan and Feb this year.
As usual, the evergreen Proton Saga entry-level sedan model continues to take up a lion share of sales for the automaker with 5,024 units sold last month. Continuing as the brand’s second best-seller too is the Proton X50 RC compact crossover which saw 1,824 units sold throughout Feb 2023.
Of note too is the sales pace of the Proton S70 C-segment sedan offering. Proton notes that the S70 continues to lead the local C-segment sedans market space for two consecutive months with a total of 2,340 units shifted throughout both Jan and Feb this year.
Adding to things too were developments in Egypt. CKD operations and sales of the Proton Saga LHD commenced last month, the former spearheaded by ESAF.
Adding to its Feb 2025 sales total too were recent developments in Egypt. In fact, local assembly (CKD) operations and sales of the left-hand-drive (LHD) Proton Saga model commenced in Egypt last month at the Ezz Elarab Elsewedy Automotive Factories (ESAF) facility near Cairo.
As reported, said facility was built with a sizeable US$50 million (approx. RM223 million+) investment, boasting an annual capacity of 40,000 units too. Proton further adds that cars built by ESAF will serve demands in Egypt and North Africa, and will also build a base for future market expansion.
Notable too were the sales pace of the Proton e.MAS 7. Over 4,500 bookings have been placed thus far for Proton's first EV.
Besides this, Proton’s Feb 2025 sales also saw notable pace charted by the marque’s first electric vehicle (EV) offering – the Proton e.MAS 7. Locally, 580 units were delivered in Feb 2025, and over 1,000 units have been delivered to local buyers thus far too.
Presently, local buyers benefit with a special early bird rebate and benefits package limited to the first 6,000 bookings only. Proton adds that it has so far received over 4,500 bookings for the Proton e.MAS 7 model locally, thus signaling strong demand.
580 units of the e.MAS 7 were delivered in Feb 2024, bringing its total deliveries to over 1,000 units now.
Local sales aside, the Proton e.MAS 7 is also poised to charge up Proton’s overseas sales efforts too. In fact, 50 units were shipped to Nepal in Feb 2025. Additionally, a handful of units were also shipped to both Singapore and Trinidad & Tobago for evaluation purposes.
“The Proton e.MAS 7 has proven to be an early success so our challenge now is to keep it in the spotlight while aggressively planning for our other model introductions later this year,” adds Roslan further.
