A 28-year-old Chinese content creator known as Deng Sheng was apprehended by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on April 8th for driving a Lamborghini Aventador without a valid driver's license. The arrest took place during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri special operation along Jalan Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

The confiscation gained significant attention over the internet. This followed earlier media reports quoting KL JPJ Director Hamidi Adam, who stated that the vehicle belonging to Deng Sheng was among 27 vehicles seized during an operation.

However, Hamidi Adam later clarified that the content creator driving the Lamborghini was fined but not arrested, contrary to earlier reports. The Chinese national also held a valid driver's license. Muhammad-Kifli-Ma-Hassan.-(21).png

“KL JPJ only issued a summons to the driver and allowed a passenger with a licence to take the vehicle home. We apologise for any confusion caused,” he said.

Malay Mail reported that Deng Sheng is contemplating legal action in response to the false accusations, asserting that they have negatively impacted his reputation, business, and personal life.

“I reserve all my legal rights to take action against those who have harmed my name and reputation,” he said in a statement.

The 28-year-old, who stressed that he has a valid international driving permit, said he was stopped at a roadblock in Kuala Lumpur but merely received a summons for not having the document on him at the time.

“I wasn’t arrested. My car wasn’t taken away. The JPJ officers were professional, and after I explained the situation, I was allowed to leave,” he added.
