- Next-Gen Audi A6 Sedan Teased Ahead of April 15 Debut
Audi has teased the upcoming sixth-gen Audi A6 sedan ahead of its April 15 debut.
Following the debut of its wagon twin last month, German automaker Audi has published a single teaser image of its upcoming midsize saloon, the Audi A6 sedan. Not to be confused with the Audi A6 e-tron EV that debuted last year, the new A6 sedan is essentially the successor to the A7, as Audi’s new naming convention sees both the A6 Avant and A7 Sportback lineups now streamlined into one nameplate.

From the single teaser image, we get to see a partial view of the new A6 sedan’s taillights, which look somewhat similar to those of the Avant. It uses the same fancy OLEDs Audi is known for, although the sedan does get a slightly different light signature compared to its estate twin.
Besides the partial taillight view, we can also see the new A6 sedan sports a blacked-out A6 badge, thus hinting at some degree of S Line sports trim primed for this new saloon.
Predictably, Audi has kept most of the details of the new A6 sedan under wraps, but the Ingolstadt-based marque does elaborate on the extensive work done to lower the drag for better efficiency. And just like the Avant, the new A6 sedan will also benefit from improved aeroacoustics, while the suspension and drive have both been tuned to deliver a “more precise, controlled, and dynamic driving experience.”
Given that the new A6 sedan is essentially a three-box twin of the new A6 Avant, we can expect it to get the same powertrain and mechanical specs, including the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture the wagon underpins. As of now, the new A6 Avant is offered in both petrol and diesel forms, with some even including mild electrification assists.
The all-new Audi A6 sedan is poised to make its global debut later on April 15, where it will go against the likes of other premium executive saloons like the G60-gen BMW 5 Series and the W214-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
