Travellers heading from Singapore to Malaysia via the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints between May 8 and May 13 are advised to anticipate significant traffic congestion and longer wait times due to the Wesak Day public holiday on May 12.

Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has issued a statement, reported by The Straits Times, forecasting a surge in traffic volume throughout the holiday weekend.

“Motorists should also monitor traffic conditions at both land checkpoints before travelling and consider using QR codes instead of passports for quicker immigration clearance,” the ICA says in a statement.

To mitigate traffic congestion, the ICA advises travellers to utilize cross-border bus services. Check out bus times on the Land Transport Authority's MyTransport.SG app or directly on bus operator websites.
