- Man Warns About Car Battery Thefts Near Glenmarie LRT Station
A widely shared social media post has highlighted growing concern among LRT commuters regarding an increase in car battery thefts near the Glenmarie station. The lack of sufficient parking forces many to park in unsupervised areas, making them easy targets.
The issue gained traction after a TikTok video by @bateriku.com_ttdi featured a man claiming his car had its battery stolen twice. He further stated that stolen batteries could be sold on the black market for RM20 to RM30.
“If possible, avoid parking in these elevated areas near the slopes. Though parking is limited, it’s better to find alternative spots as these incidents allegedly occur frequently here at Glenmarie station,” the man says.
It seems there's a pattern of car battery thefts and other incidents happening around the Glenmarie LRT station, according to social media users who shared their experiences in the comment section.
One person even had their car windows broken and the inside rummaged through, even though nothing was actually taken.
“The experience left me unwilling to park there again,” the user says.
Local residents are urging authorities and LRT operators to investigate the claims and consider improvements to station security and parking as a preventative measure.
