Suzuki Jimny Bids Farewell to Europe with a Limited Edition Model
The Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition marks the departure of this iconic off-roader SUV from European soil.
The strict emission regulations in Europe have just claimed a new victim, and this time it's the iconic off-roader SUV, the Suzuki Jimny. To celebrate its departure from European soil, the Japanese automaker has unveiled a special final edition of the SUV, known as the Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition.
As its name suggests, this limited-edition Jimny marks the 55th anniversary since the original Jimny debuted globally. And just like any other final edition, only 55 units of this special Jimny will be made, and they are all specially reserved for the French market.
Compared to the standard three-door Jimnys out there, the 55th Anniversary Edition gains several commemorative design cues, with the most distinctive being its custom front grille that features Suzuki lettering. The new face is accompanied by retro-inspired decals on the side part, new red-hued mud flaps, and a soft spare wheel cover with the Jimny Rhino emblem.
Topping off the exterior design changes are the new black steelie wheels, as well as four unique exterior shades—White, Jungle Green, Bluish Black, and Medium Gray.
On-board, the 55th Anniversary Edition features unique Jimny-badged floor mats with texture mimicking the corrugated metal flooring, alongside a special commemorative plaque on the central console. There’s also a special key ring and a travel journal with an embossed leather cover for owners to record their journeys with the Jimny.
Built based on the Privilège trim, this special edition Jimny gets a host of basic cabin amenities, including heated seats, Bluetooth connectivity for the head unit, and several ADAS functions like Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). And yes, no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for this special edition.
Similarly, the 55th Anniversary Edition is powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl nat-asp engine rated at 102 PS and 130 Nm as the standard Jimny. Power is sent to all four wheels (4WD) via a five-speed manual transmission and Suzuki’s proprietary AllGrip Pro 4WD system, complete with a transfer box and short gear range.
The 55 unit-only Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition retails at €28,955 (RM141,558), with first deliveries set to take place later this month. This Europe-only special joins the long list of limited-edition Jimnys, but given its impending departure from Europe, this model could be among the rarest ones out there.
