- KL-Karak Lane Closure Until Aug 31 For ECRL Works
Planning a trip to Genting or heading east? Just a heads-up; your drive might take a little longer than usual.
Due to ongoing East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) work, all Kuantan-bound lanes on the KL-Karak Highway (KM25.75 to KM26.39) are closed from now until August 31.
That stretch will have a traffic diversion in place, and it’ll affect both directions. So expect some slowdowns and heavier traffic than usual.
Concessionaire AFA Prime advises drivers to stay alert, follow all signs, and go easy near the work zone as it might be a bit of a hassle.

On that note, ECRL is now 85% complete and still on track to start running by early 2027, according to Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
