- Mercedes Concept AMG GT Track Sport Teases New V8 GT Supercar
The latest teaser from Mercedes-AMG, christened as the Concept AMG GT Track Sport, promises to bring the most extreme, 'unhinged' version of the second-gen AMG GT Coupe yet.

The latest teaser from Mercedes-AMG sees the three-point star marque’s performance arm preview an “uncompromising concept vehicle … designed for absolute dynamic driving peak performance to set new standards and record times.”
Dubbed the Mercedes Concept AMG GT Track Sport, the automaker is a hinting at an extreme new model set to debut soon. There’s not much we can deduce from the cryptic press release and accompanying teaser images, thought there are some takeaways form the latter.
Despite the perforated camouflage, there are some distinct details that can be made out.

Key detailed besides the perforated camouflage scheme include a unique front grille design paired with a massive front splitter element, top-mounted fender vents, as well as functional NACA duct next to the headlight.
Other kit bits include a massive fixed rear wing, along with lightweight wheels shod in performance-focused Michelin tyres. Apart from that, there’s little else we can make out at this point, though details are expected to arise over the coming weeks.

Notable touches that can be seen include the unique front grille, massive front splitter, fixed rear wing, as well as lightweight wheel shod in Michelin performance tyres.

With this concept, Mercedes-AMG also hints that its second-gen AMG GT Coupe family is “not yet complete.” The firm also notes this concept “provides a preview of a possible expansion of the GT series with a V8 engine.”
As a refresher, the second-gen AMG GT Coupe variant line-up sees everything from a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cyl to a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) available to customers.
Specifically, for the V8-engined range, there are four guises on offer. Whilst non-PHEV versions offer anywhere between 469 HP and 603 HP, things peak with the electrified V8 option noted that puts out a whopping 805 HP.

There’s even a track-focused GT63 Pro guise available, and it brings key additions like a sharper and more aerodynamic aerokit, a beefed up powertrain, not forgetting carbon ceramic brakes – just about everything any trackday warrior needs.
Back to the cryptic concept and, as noted, we only need to sit tight and wait for more details. In the meantime, what do you folks reckon about what promises to be the most ‘unhinged’ V8-engined GT supercar yet from Mercedes-AMG? Hit the comments below…
