Members of the public planning to attend the upcoming 68th Merdeka Day parade in Putrajaya are advised to arrive early and take advantage of the free transport services provided to ease traffic congestion.

Over 15,000 parking bays have been prepared across key locations, including Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC, 3,500 bays), Presint 9 (3,000 bays), Presint 1 (2,500 bays), Presint 18 (2,500 bays), Presint 8 (2,000 bays) and Ayer@8 in Presint 8 (1,500 bays).

From these zones, visitors can proceed to Dataran Putrajaya via the free shuttle buses, which will run every 15 minutes starting as early as 4AM on Aug 31.

Shuttle pick-up and drop-off points include Putrajaya Sentral in Presint 7, Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Presint 5, and the Sultan Abdul Samad Memorial Building (PSSAAS) in Presint 1.

For added convenience, free water taxi and cruise services will also be provided. On Aug 30 (8PM - 1AM), services will connect Jeti Taman Botani (Presint 1), Ayer@8 (Presint 8), and Marina Putrajaya (Presint 5) with Jeti Monumen in Presint 2.

On Merdeka Day itself (Aug 31, 5AM - 2PM), water taxis will run from Ayer@8 and Kelab Tasik Putrajaya to Jeti Monumen at intervals of 10–15 minutes. A dedicated cruise will also operate every 20 minutes between Marina Putrajaya (Presint 5) and Jeti Anjung Floria (Presint 4).

Authorities have reminded visitors that all shuttle, water taxi and cruise services are free of charge, urging the public to plan ahead, arrive early and make full use of the facilities provided.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said more than 2,700 officers and personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain security, with the celebrations expected to draw over 100,000 people.
