The restrictions will tighten further on Aug 29, when 14 entry points into Putrajaya’s Core Island will be closed from 10PM, remaining shut until the end of celebrations on Aug 31.

These include:

To ease congestion, visitors are encouraged to arrive early and use the free shuttle bus service, which will run every 15 minutes from three pickup points.

KL Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said over 2,700 officers and personnel will be deployed to manage traffic and security as the celebrations are expected to draw more than 100,000 visitors.

A special Anti-Crime Operation will also be mounted on Merdeka Eve, focusing on crowded areas and high-risk zones across the federal capital.
