- MyDigital ID Required For MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM Soon
The MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM mobile apps will soon require MyDigital ID as the sole login method, replacing the current option of using a user ID and password.
MyDigital ID as a Single Login offers simpler, safer and more transparent verification, ensuring convenience with the highest security while driving Malaysia’s digital transformation,” said Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim, CEO of MyDigital ID.
The MyDigital ID app has also been updated with biometric login support, allowing users to approve access with their fingerprint once enabled.
This announcement comes after last year’s postponement, when the rollout of MyDigital ID as the only login option for MyJPJ sparked public backlash. Many Malaysians were unprepared, with concerns over accessibility for senior citizens and complaints about lag within the app.
The initial requirement, which was set for Oct 10, 2024, was shelved following confusion and criticism. Transport Minister Anthony Loke clarified that his Ministry had not been consulted on the sudden pop-up alert within the MyJPJ app.
While no new implementation date has been confirmed, the latest statement signals the government’s intent to move forward. MyDigital ID is urging Malaysians to register with the platform to ensure continued access once the change takes effect.
