Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said 6,684 notices were issued, with 6,284 coming from daily enforcement rounds and another 400 from Ops Didik, a special campaign focused on school students.

“Motorcyclists received 3,132 notices, making them the largest group. Car drivers were next with 2,813 notices. We also issued 120 notices to van drivers, 103 to lorry drivers, 182 to taxi drivers and 334 to pedestrians,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

According to Fadil, blocking traffic was the most common offence, with 3,134 cases recorded. Other frequent violations included missing side mirrors, expired road tax, bald tyres and missing chain covers, totalling 1,632 cases.

“Running red lights accounted for 494 cases, while 380 drivers were caught stopping in yellow boxes. We also issued 411 notices for dirty, unclear or fancy number plates, 328 for not wearing seatbelts and 305 for not wearing helmets,” he said.

The advocacy campaign, which has been running since September 6 on several key city roads, is designed to prepare road users for stricter enforcement once full-scale operations begin.
