Chery Tiggo 7 & Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH Set to Debut on Oct 3 – Bookings Opened
The much-anticipated Chery Tiggo 7 & Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH are set to debut this Oct 3rd, with bookings already opened.
Following its booking commencement last week, Chery Malaysia has now announced the launch date for its much-anticipated SUV duo, the Chery Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 PHEV CSH. These two plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models will be making their local debut later this week on Oct 3, as confirmed by Chery Malaysia via its official Facebook page.
First previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025), the upcoming Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 PHEV will be Chery Malaysia’s second and third hybrid models, with both of them using the same Chery Super Hybrid PHEV powertrain setup.
As detailed prior, this PHEV setup features a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine with a sublime thermal efficiency rate of 44.5% and can deliver up to 154 hp and 220 Nm. The electrification part comes in the form of Chery’s proprietary 3-speed Stepless Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) that integrates two electric motors rated at 201 hp and 310 Nm.
Combined, this whole setup boasts a sublime total system output of 342 hp and 525 Nm—all of which goes exclusively to the front wheels to allow rapid century sprint times as low as 4.26 seconds.
Beyond the performance numbers, Chery points out that efficiency is the main goal for its CSH setup, where its 18.3-kWh LFP battery pack is said to deliver up to 90 km of pure electric range. Combined with its large 60-litre fuel tank, the whole CSH setup promises up to 1,200 km of comprehensive driving range for both the Tiggo 7 and 8 CSH, with a combined fuel consumption of 4.9 litres per 100 km.
For safety measures, the CSH battery pack comes with Chery’s own Guardian Battery Safety System, which includes features such as high-voltage power cut-off that immediately shuts down the battery system in the event of an incident. In addition, the battery pack also comes with an IP68 dust and waterproof rating, while being capable of withstanding extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to 60°C, ensuring reliability across diverse climates and driving environments.
With its official launch date now confirmed, prospective customers can check out the upcoming Chery Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 PHEV up close at any nearby Chery showrooms, where they can also participate in test drives and book these PHEV SUVs directly. Alternatively, you can also visit Chery Malaysia’s official website to register your interests in the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 PHEV.
