The locally assembled (CKD) seventh-generation long-wheelbase (V223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship saloon has been updated. Earlier today, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) officially announced the availability of which via press release.
Christened as the 2025 Mercedes-Benz S580e with EQ Hybrid Technology, the model continues to roll off the line from MBM’s assembly line in Pekan, Pahang. In its latest 2025 model year guise, it gains a few minor upgrades too.
For Malaysia, the V223-gen S-Class CKD is offered in S580e with EQ Hybrid Technology form, and it has received minor upgrades in its latest 2025MY guise.

The first of which lies in the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain’s newly added ability to draw in up to 60 kW of DC fast-charging (DCFC) input. In turn, this allows the 28.6 kWh battery pack primed aboard to charge from 10% to 80% at said speed in just 20 minutes.
That aside, this updated S580e variant continues to see said battery pack juicing an e-motor that also augments a 3.0-litre straight 6-cyl turbo petrol mill. Altogether this package outputs a combined 510 hp and 750 Nm.
One major upgrade to the powertrain is the newly added ability to draw in 60 kW DC fast-charging input, and this enables 10-80% battery re-charges in just 20 minutes.

Like before, the mill continues to be paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels (RWD). In turn, this sees 0-100 km/h sprints done in just 5.2 secs, a claimed V-max of 250 km/h, and approximately 77 km of electric-only range.
Next comes the inclusion of a new rear-axle steering (rear-wheel steering or ‘RWS’) suite. Previously absent, this delivers up to 4.5 degrees of steering angle to the V223-gen S-Class limousine’s rear wheels, in turn enhancing its overall agility and cornering abilities.
New too are the 10-twin-spoke forged alloy wheels and - critically - a newly added rear-axle steering (rear-wheel-steering or 'RWS') suite.

That aside, it appears little else has changed in terms of kit and amenities in this Pekan-built flagship four-door limousine. One key highlight that continues to be present here is the three-stage ‘climatised’ ventilated and heated seats.
Another key comfort amenity brimmed aboard is the ‘Energizing Air Control’ climate control suite. It can detect nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and fine particles of up to PM2.5, automatically managing and adjusting air quality aboard for occupants too.
