BMW Group Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable mobility by providing a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) to support Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.

The move highlights the company’s partnership with the Malaysian government in promoting cleaner and more efficient transport across the region.

Two of BMW’s flagship models, the i7 xDrive60 M Sport and the i5 eDrive40 M Sport, will be part of the official government fleet during Malaysia’s tenure as ASEAN Chair.

Their inclusion reflects the country’s push toward greener mobility under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). It also fits with the Chairmanship’s theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

As Malaysia’s leading premium EV provider, BMW Group Malaysia continues to champion sustainability and innovation. The company is expanding its range of electric vehicles, forming strategic partnerships, and taking an open approach to technology to support a cleaner and smarter future.

The initiative is also meant to encourage other ASEAN countries to explore similar paths toward sustainable mobility.

The BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, priced at RM399,800, features a rear-mounted motor with 340 hp and 430 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in six seconds and offers up to 582 km of range (WLTP).

The BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport meanwhile takes things further. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivers 544 hp and 745 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Its 105.7 kWh battery provides up to 625 km of range (WLTP), with prices starting at RM729,800.

Through this partnership, BMW Group Malaysia strengthens its role in driving the country’s shift toward sustainable mobility. It shows that premium cars can be high performing while also being environmentally responsible.
