Amongst the highlights of the BYD Tech Discovery 2025 roadshow this week was the preview of the Shark 6 'super-PHEV' pick-up truck.

Apart from previewing the Shark 6 and showcasing a slew of technologies via its BYD Tech Discovery 2025 roadshow this week, BYD Cars Malaysia also conducted a quick business briefing to local press in attendance yesterday.

Firstly, the firm revealed that its total year-to-date (YTD) sales for 2025 as of Nov have reached 11,097 units. This marks a 70% year-on-year (YoY) increase versus the same period last year (2024), noted BYD Cars Malaysia MD Eagle Zhao during said briefing.

The BYD brand alone saw a 70% YoY increased total sales of 11,097 units as of Nov this year. Combined with Denza, a total 24,328 units have been shifted as of Nov 2025.

Zhao continued in noting that combined sales of both the BYD and its Denza brands in Malaysia have also reached 24,328 units to date since their respective debuts. As a refresher, BYD launched first back in Dec 2022, whilst Denza arrived in Feb this year.

Zhao further stressed that the combined sales total of both brands noted were achieved in under three years – the firm celebrated reaching the 20,000 units sales milestone just two most prior.

Nationwide, BYD Cars Malaysia now boasts nearly 40 sales outlets, 24 sales outlets, as well as 12 B&P centres.

Next, Zhao also detailed key expansion and growth in the marque’s local network. Presently, BYD Cars Malaysia has nearly 40 active sales outlets nationwide supported by 24 after-sales outlets plus a dozen (12) body and paint (B&P) centres.

Also detailed was a massive centralised warehouse established by the firm that manages over 4,600 line items with a 94% fill rate to boot.

Supporting said sales and after-sales outlet too is a massive centralised parts warehouse that boasts a 94% fill rate. This facility also manages over 4,600 line items in its inventory. As for manpower, the firm touts a total headcount of over 1,000 personnel too.

The firm didn’t disclose much beyond which, but we’ll remind you of BYD Cars Malaysia’s plans to establish a local assembly (CKD) facility located in Tanjong Malim, Perak. The firm targets to have this facility operational by the second half (H2) of next year (2026).
