Specs for the upcoming Xpeng G6 EREV have surfaced online, featuring a large 55.8 kWh battery pack.
Besides the X9 MPV, it seems like Xpeng will also be expanding its extended-range EV (EREV) lineup to include its popular midsize SUV, the Xpeng G6. Simply known as the Xpeng G6 EREV for now, we are finally learning new details about this range-extender SUV, thanks to an official filing by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

As reported by CarNewsChina, the G6 EREV will be equipped with a 55.8 kWh battery pack, which is quite big for a range extender’s standard, although still not as large as the X9 EREV. As a result, Xpeng claims a pretty high EV-only range for the G6 of up to 325 km, and that is based on the WLTC standards.
The combustion element will come in the form of a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine rated at 148 hp (110 kW), plus a rear axle-mounted motor setup with 292 hp (218 kW) of power with a limited V-max of 202 km/h. Combined with its large battery capacity, the G6 EREV could get a comprehensive range of up to 1,400 km.

From the images submitted, we can see that the G6 EREV looks very similar to its battery electric counterpart, as it retains the same sleek fastback SUV design. Also seen here are the design elements introduced to the 2025 model, including the full-width LED DRL bar at the front, the decklid tailgate design at the rear, and wheel options with sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
In terms of dimension, we’ve been told that the G6 EREV aligns with its BEV twin, spanning 4,771 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.

As of now, no official launch dates have been confirmed by Xpeng, although the MIIT application confirms that the G6 EREV is still in the regulatory approval process. With its BEV version retailing from CNY 176,800 (RM103,631) onwards in native China, how much will this range extender be priced, and more importantly, will it be part of Xpeng’s global product lineup in the future?
