- iCaur V23 Earns 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating

The all-new iCaur V23 has earned a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating, marking a strong safety debut for iCaur’s second model introduced to the Malaysian market.
Assessed under the ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 protocol, the electric SUV achieved an overall score of 91.02 points, underlining a well-rounded safety performance across occupant protection, active safety and motorcyclist protection categories.

The result comes shortly after the model’s local launch in November 2025, when iCaur Malaysia officially introduced the V23 in two variants. The range opens with the 2WD variant priced at RM119,800, while the range-topping iWD version is offered at RM132,800.

In the Adult Occupant Protection evaluation, the iCaur V23 recorded 31.77 points out of a possible 32.00. ASEAN NCAP reported that the SUV’s frontal occupant compartment remained stable during the frontal offset impact test, with dummy data indicating adequate chest protection for the front passenger.

The vehicle scored 15.77 points in the frontal impact test, alongside a full 8.00 points for side impact protection and 8.00 points for head protection technology, the latter confirmed through additional deployment tests and assessed using the Fitment Rating System.
Child Occupant Protection contributed 42.50 points to the overall score. Dynamic testing accounted for 24.00 points, while 9.50 points were awarded for child restraint system installation assessments. Vehicle-based safety provisions added a further 9.00 points.

ISOFIX anchorages are fitted as standard, and ASEAN NCAP verified compatibility with a variety of child seats from brands such as Peg-Perego, Joie, Maxi-Cosi and Britax during the assessment.

In the Safety Assist category, the iCaur V23 accumulated 18.00 points. ASEAN NCAP confirmed the functionality of both Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City and AEB Inter-Urban, which are standard across all variants.

Effective Braking and Avoidance contributed 6.00 points, while seatbelt reminder systems added 3.00 points, with advanced safety assist technologies accounting for the remaining 3.00 points.

The model also performed strongly in the Motorcyclist Safety domain, securing 14.00 points. This score was driven by the effective operation of the Blind Spot Detection system on both sides of the vehicle, supported by rear visualisation and pedestrian protection assessments.

A bonus point was awarded for the inclusion of AEB for Motorcycle.
With its five-star ASEAN NCAP rating, comprehensive standard safety equipment and competitive pricing, the iCaur V23 establishes a strong safety-led proposition in the electric SUV space, while reinforcing iCaur’s ambitions as it expands its presence in the Malaysian and wider Southeast Asian markets.
