JPJ said 1,887 Porsche cars were found operating without renewed road tax between Jan 1 and Dec 18, making up the bulk of cases uncovered under Ops Luxury which was launched in late June.

In total, 2,685 luxury vehicles were flagged during the period.

Other brands detected include Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin, though in significantly smaller numbers.

Since Ops Luxury began, 855 luxury vehicles have been seized, while the remaining non-compliant vehicles continue to be monitored.

JPJ senior director of enforcement Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan reminded owners that vehicles without valid road tax are not covered by insurance, exposing them to serious legal and financial risks if an accident occurs.

"Enforcement action, including seizure, will continue for those who fail to renew their road tax," he reminded.

The operation has also driven a surge in compliance. 12,921 luxury vehicles renewed their road tax, generating RM34.47 million in collections. Once again, Porsche led the way, contributing RM17.94 million from 10,142 renewals.
