- KTMB Launches Festive Train From KL-Padang Besar This Chinese New Year
KTMB is rolling out a special RTSM, or Railway to See Malaysia, excursion train running between KL Sentral and Padang Besar this Feb for Chinese New Year.
The train, announced by KTMB Group CEO Datuk Azlan Shah Al Bakri, is designed to offer a more comfortable travel option, especially for families with young children and older passengers who prefer a stress-free journey.
The service will run on Feb 13, 14, 16, and 17, with a total of 1,344 tickets available.
Tickets go on sale starting today at noon through KTMB’s official channels, with fares starting from RM70 for the Superior Class and RM90 for the Superior Sleeper Class.
For those heading north from KL Sentral on February 13 and 16, the train departs at 10:30PM and arrives in Padang Besar at 7:28AM the next day. Travelers coming south from Padang Besar on February 14 and 17 can hop on at 10:00PM, arriving back in KL at 6:44AM.
Along the journey, the train stops at 11 key stations, including Sungai Buloh, Tanjung Malim, Kampar, Batu Gajah, Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping, Sungai Petani, Alor Setar, and Arau before reaching its final destination in Padang Besar.

Tickets can be purchased conveniently through KTMB’s Mobile App (KITS), ticketing kiosks, counters, or online at their official website.
