- Zeekr 8X PHEV SUV Teased Ahead of 1H 2026 Debut

Zeekr’s new performance PHEV SUV will be known as the Zeekr 8X, set to debut sometime later in the first half of 2026.
Premium Chinese NEV marque Zeekr has published a set of teaser images of its upcoming performance PHEV SUV, simply known as the Zeekr 8X. Positioned as the brand’s high-performance flagship SUV alongside the larger, three-row Zeekr 9X, the 8X is set to make its global debut sometime later in the first half of 2026 (1H 2026).
Similar to the 9X, the upcoming 8X is also built upon Geely’s SEA-S platform, featuring a 900-volt battery architecture that can support up to 6C fast charging. While no detailed figures were given for now, we can expect the 8X to be powered by the same PHEV powertrain setup as the 9X, possibly featuring the same triple-motor setup that can deliver a combined output of over 1,000 hp.

To help the 8X manoeuvre through rough terrains, this PHEV SUV is equipped with Zeekr’s proprietary Haohan AI Digital Chassis system. In extreme driving scenarios like tyre blowouts on wet surfaces, the system helps the 8X to brake and stop in a safe and stable manner while being able to adapt to multiple off-road terrain conditions, including deep snow, mud, sand, and rocks.
From the limited teaser images, the camo-cladded 8X appears to rock the same boxy SUV bodystyle seen on the 9X, albeit in a seemingly smaller form. For reference, the Zeekr 9X spans 5,239 mm long, 2,029 mm wide, and 1,819 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm.

Some key design highlights that can be seen on this camo-wrapped prototype include C-shaped LED headlights, a clean front grille design with a wide lower air intake, a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, full-width LED taillights with C-shaped ends a la Zeekr 7X, conventional door handles, and large gloss black alloy wheels with red-hued brake callipers.
Again, following in the footsteps of the 9X, the upcoming Zeekr 8X is also expected to feature Geely’s G-Pilot advanced driving assistance suite, while reports suggested that the SUV could be offered in either five-, six-, or seven-seat configurations.

As mentioned earlier, the upcoming Zeekr 8X is slated to make its debut sometime later in 1H 2026, where it will be positioned alongside the 9X as the brand’s flagship PHEV SUV duo. With the 9X currently retailing from CNY 465,900 (RM270,334) onwards in native China, CarNewsChina reports that the 8X could be priced somewhere around the CNY 430,000 (RM249,503) region.
