Mazda CX-8

The first-generation Mazda CX-8 comes in four variants; the 2.2L High, 2.5L Mid, 2.5L MidPlus and the 2.5L High. Prices range from RM 173,038 to RM 206,265. The CX-8 highlights its stylish and sleek design as well as space and comfort.

The dashboard gives off a sophisticated feel to it with its tasteful wood trimmings and classic colours.

The digital instrument cluster in the vehicle is a classy back-lit cluster that matches the ambience of the interior.

The vehicle comes with 5+2 seats for maximum flexibility. The seats are finished with high-quality leather that fits nicely with its classy interior. Not only that but the rear seats can also be arranged to split-folding 3rd-row rearseats. The driver is provided with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The CX-8 emphasizes space and comfort, therefore all passengers in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rows will have no shortage of leg and headspace, even after fully extending their seat.

The car has a decent-sized glove compartment that is able to fit your lunchbox,  as well as any other essential items such as sunglasses or even sanitisers. However, there are multiple other storage space options in the vehicle such as the cavern beneath the front central armrest where passengers are able to fit their tissues or even makeup pouches.

There are six cup holders near the front and second-row armrests, and 8 bottle holders, each in all four doors and 4 more at the third-row side panels.

The CX-8 has a total of four USB charging ports and one 12-volt power socket. Two USB ports in the front for infotainment duties and two additional USB charging ports inside the second-row centre armrest. The one 12-volt power socket is located in the boot.

The available boot space for the CX-8 is 205 litres. However, with the last row seats lowered down, passengers are able to enjoy around 742 litres of cargo space. On top of that, cargo space can also be increased to around 1727 litres with both the second and third row of seats folded

The measurements are 4,900 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,730 mm in height, with a wheelbase spanning 2,930 mm.

The front view of the CX-8 is the definition of elegant. The main focus of the car being Kodo Design Language where the sharp lines on the front of the vehicle are complemented with smaller grilles.

The rear of the CX-8 displays their sleek & dynamic design that focuses on their improved LED tail lamps.

The CX-8 is fitted with LED adaptive projection headlamps.

The CX-8 has the following active safety features; blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keep assist system. It is also equipped with an anti-lock braking system, dynamic stability control, traction control system, and emergency brake assist.

The passive safety features include six airbags, three-point safety belt with pretensioner, and ISOFIX child seats anchor points.

All three petrol variants come with two drive modes, which include Standard and Sport modes.

Under the hood of the petrol CX-8 variants, you will find the 2.5-liter Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) engine that produces 192 hp at 6,000 rpm and 258 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.

The vehicle is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
