2020 Ranger XLT Plus facelift unveiled, additional savings campaign for Ranger line-up
Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) has introduced the updated 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Plus, taking several design cues first seen on the updated Ford Ranger WildTrak and Raptor – both of which were been launched earlier this year alongside the FX4.
These include updated headlights, which are now bi-LED bulbs instead of Xenon units from the outgoing model, promising an improvement in light penetration for better visibility while driving at night. The design of the headlight assembly has also been given an update with a square projector lens and housing.
Further back, the updated 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Plus has also been given a refreshed bumper design in body colour, now featuring a silver lip, mimicking the front design of the WildTrak. The new chrome grille is also a variant-exclusive item to the 2020 XLT Plus.
Otherwise, kit count and powertrain remains the same on the pick-up truck. The 2020 Ford Ranger XLT Plus is still powered by the 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder turbodiesel mill with a single-turbo configuration, making 180 hp and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Other standard equipment which were carried over from the outgoing model include an eight-inch touchscreen display running Ford’s Sync infotainment system, reverse camera, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-start button, and the Easy-Lift tailgate.
The updated pick-up truck is priced at RM129,888, on- the- road, and without insurance, and similarly to the entire Ranger line-up, it comes with a three-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
In conjunction with the launch, SDAC-Ford has also introduced a new promotional campaign for the Ranger line-up. Customers will have a choice between four (4) free vehicle service – equivalent to two-years/40,000 km maintenance- or a RM2,000 cash rebate for selected Ranger vehicles until 31 December 2020. Customers looking to purchase selected XL and XLT variants will also receive up to RM7,000 in cash rebates on their purchase.
