Fast Facts: 2020 Facelifted Toyota Vios Now Open for Booking!
Not too long after the details for the facelifted Toyota Yaris were announced, the order books for the Toyota Vios are now open. Like the current model and Yaris, the Toyota Vios will be available in J, E, and G form.
What’s Outside?
The facelifted 2020 Toyota Vios has a refreshed face similar to its hatchback brethren, the only difference being the horizontal slats on the grille (as opposed to meshes on the Yaris). The triple-bezel LED reflector headlights and DRLs are standard across the range.
The fog light casing has been revised to a vertical design similar to one on the Toyota Corolla. The same lip (which is absent on Thai-spec cars) on the Yaris can be seen here as well. Other than that, the rest of the car looks the same as the outgoing model.
The car shown in these photos is fitted with the optional Aerokit, which at RM2,800 adds front and rear bumper lips, side skirts, and a 2-tone boot-lid spoiler. The Vios comes in 5 colours: Orange Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Dark Blue Metallic, Red Mica Metallic and Silver Metallic.

What’s Inside?
For interior kit, the 2020 Toyota Vios comes with a new 7-inch infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), electrochromic rear view mirror, as well as Toyota Telematics System (E and G variants), just like the Yaris. Other equipment includes automatic climate control, Eco and Sport mode switch.

How Fast?
The power plant should remain unchanged from the outgoing model. Which means it’s still the same 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i 4-potter that churns out 107hp and 140Nm. Shifting duty is undertaken by the same 7-speed CVT transmission.

How Safe?
In terms of safety, the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite of advanced driver assistance systems includes Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Pre-Collision Warning (PCW) autonomous emergency braking systems, which are now integrated with the camera and radar. The driver will be warned via the multi-info display in the instrument cluster instead of the driving recorder like before. A huge improvement if you ask this writer.
The TSS suite works with the help of a 360-degree panoramic view monitor, blind-spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert, as well as a front dash cam (standard on E and G models). A rear dash cam can be optioned at RM350.

How Much?
The 2020 facelifted Toyota Vios J, E and G is priced respectively at RM75,701, RM86,675, and RM89,232. Which is a slight increase over the outgoing model. The car can now be booked via UMW Toyota’s website, or at all authorised dealerships nationwide. A 5-year unlimited warranty comes standard.
The new Toyota Vios is now available from our dealers! If you want a used unit, you may want to buy from our verified dealers.
