Fast Facts: Facelifted Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe Launched in Malaysia, now 80k Cheaper
The AMG 43 series may be considered entry level to the hallowed AMG brand, but the 3-liter twin turbo engine offers more than enough grunt for daily use. In fact, its relatively unstressed characteristics make for excellent highway cruising.
After the launch of the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe last year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched the facelifted 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe with the rather decent power plant mentioned above.

It’s worth noting that the model is now locally assembled instead of fully imported as before, which means when paired with the sales tax exemption, the GLC 43 Coupe is priced at RM498,723 on-the-road without insurance, a cool RM80,000 lesser than before.
What’s Outside?
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe is decked out in the AMG Line exterior pack like the GLC 300 Coupe. AMG-specific exterior bits include the Panamericana grille, quad round tailpipe exits and 21-inch 5 twin-spoke 2-tone alloy wheels.

What’s Inside?
Like the GLC 300 Coupe, the GLC 43 Coupe has an overhauled interior as well. The main highlight would be the 10.25-inch infotainment display with latest MBUX infotainment software and 12.3 -inch digital instrument cluster.
AMG-specific kit includes a meaty AMG Performance steering wheel, red contrast top stitching, Designo seat belts, and AMG-specific displays on the MBUX system and instrument cluster.

How Fast?
The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine is now tweaked to deliver 390hp (+23hp) and 520Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via the 4Matic system paired to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic gearbox.
It takes 4.9 second to hit 100km/h from standstill, top speed is limited to 250km/h as usual. Keeping the car in check is the AMG Ride Control+ air suspension, which is essentially the Air Body Control system with AMG-specific Adaptive Damping System. Apart from the Dynamic Select drive mode selection, a variable-ratio steering comes standard.

How Safe?
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 is equipped with the Driving Assistance advanced driver assist package. Features include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, active lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor, and 360-degree around view monitor.

How Much?
As mentioned, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe is now a snip below the half a million mark at RM498,723 on the road without insurance but inclusive of sales tax exemptions. If you opt for the Agility Financing Plan, the GLC 43 Coupe can be had for RM4,987 per month if you opt for 28% downpayment and a 5-year tenure.
