Mitsubishi Triton Has Once Again Broken Its Sales Record!
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia, has achieved its highest sales record for the Mitsubishi Triton with 1,521 units delivered, increased by 5.1 percent compared to its first half of the financial year 2020 (April-September 2020).
With the recent reopening of the automotive industry since the recent lockdown from June 2021, the company has been fulfilling the accumulated backlog orders.
The Mitsubishi Triton also captured its highest market share in the pick-up segment for September 2021, with 34 percent.
As for the company, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has recorded a total of 6,907 units sold. This resulted in a 2.2 percent growth to its market share, to 3.9 percent this year, from the same period last year at 1.7 percent. Mitsubishi Motors remained as the top three non-national automotive brands in Malaysia.
“As the nation moves towards the endemic era with the resumption of the automotive supply chain and showrooms opening, we are confident for optimistic sales numbers over the second half of our Financial Year,” said its chief executive officer Tomoyuki Shinnishi in a statement.
The Xpander is now Malaysia’s best-selling non-national MPV, with close to 13,000 bookings since its launch in November 2020. To date, the company has already delivered 5,756 units to new owners.
“After a few months of challenging market situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns, the team at Mitsubishi Motors is working with our best efforts to improve production, delivery timing, and to recover from backlog orders fulfilment for the Xpander and Triton. We would also like to thank our customers who have shown us support and have been patient with us,” Shinnishi said.
