Continental EcoContact 6 & 6Q Now Available in Malaysia

Continental Tyre Malaysia has introduced two new eco-friendly tyres this week, those being the EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q. The tyremaker notes both were developed to meet growing demands among Malaysian drivers for fuel-efficient and comfortable options that don't compromise on safety or performance.
According to Continental Tyre, both new offerings meet the needs of motorists looking to reduce fuel consumption, extend driving range, and enjoy a smoother ride. Designed with everyday driving in mind, the EcoContact 6 and 6Q deliver lower rolling resistance and improved grip, making them suitable for petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles (EVs) alike.

The EcoContact 6 is engineered for long-lasting efficiency. It features a specially developed high-tech silica compound that improves rolling resistance, helping to reduce fuel usage and CO₂ emissions. Its tread design, which includes asymmetric ribs and precision-cut sipes, ensures strong grip and stability in both wet and dry conditions.
For drivers who prioritise comfort, the EcoContact 6Q builds on the strengths of the EcoContact 6 with added noise-reducing features. It uses Continental’s Advanced Green Chili 2.0 compound, which adapts to road surfaces to enhance performance and efficiency. Its custom tread pattern also helps reduce road noise, making the 6Q ideal for quieter city commutes and long-distance travel.

“Whether you’re commuting in the city, heading out on the highway, or driving an EV, the EcoContact 6 and 6Q deliver a balanced mix of comfort, efficiency, and safety,” said Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia.
Both tyres also feature Continental’s ContiSilent technology, a layer of polyurethane foam applied inside the tyre that absorbs vibrations and reduces interior noise by up to 9 decibels. This helps create a noticeably quieter cabin, especially over rougher road surfaces.

Available in sizes ranging from 15 to 21 inches, the EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q is designed to suit a wide variety of vehicles on Malaysian roads. The tyres are available at authorised Continental dealers nationwide, as well as at official Continental stores on Shopee, TNG eWallet, and Lazada.
