Debut of the Mercedes-AMG CLS - New Looks, Technologies And Individualisation!

Mercedes-AMG announced the arrival of the CLS, with a sleeker design - new front fascia with redesigned air intakes, two louvres at the sides, and a front splitter in silver chrome. The rear apron showcases a black diffuser-look insert as well as a silver-chrome trim strip. 

Additionally, two designs are available for the 19-inch light-alloy wheel: 5-twin spoke or multi-spoke rims.

The range-topper, Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+ features numerous upgrades - a redesigned front end with the sporty AMG bumper in A-wing form with black flics and visible air curtains, as well as the AMG signature grille with vertical bars. 

AMG Night Package and AMG Exterior II Carbon Package models are an exception: The mirrors are either finished in high-gloss black or have a carbon fibre housing. Mercedes-AMG drivers also use the latest-generation steering wheel, which is finished in Nappa leather and features the familiar AMG steering wheel buttons with the display.

On the other hand, a total of 300 units of the new CLS 53 Limited Edition will be available for the public. It features an output of 435 hp and an additional 16 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque, with combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.0l/100km and combined CO2 emissions of around 206 g/km.

Customers can opt between cashmere white mango and selenite grey mango with black stripes. As standard, the vehicle is fitted with black 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, both Night Package, the DYNAMIC PLUS package, AMG emblem floor projection, two-tone AMG Nappa leather upholstery, carbon-fibre interior trim as well as the DINAMICA and nappa leather steering wheel. 

In addition to the familiar petrol models, the CLS 300 d 4MATIC which was launched in March 2021 features a mild-hybrid powertrain - a four-cylinder diesel engine (OM 654 M) with an integrated second-generation starter-generator and 48-volt electrical system which produces 195 kW plus 15 kW of electric boost, alongside a combined fuel consumption of approximately 5.8l/100km and a combined CO2 emission of around 153 g/km.

In terms of safety, improvements and additional features have been added such as the Active Brake Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and 360 degrees camera, ENERGIZING comfort system, MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) and the Active Stop-and-Go Assist. 

With major tweaks of the driving assistance system, it provides support to the driver in manoeuvring through any urban or rural driving situations.
