Renault Introduces Reinvented Scenic With MPV-Crossover Exterior Design!
It's been five years since the 4th generation Renault Scenic has been released to the markets. After celebrating the Scenic’s 20-year existence, its design has now improved even further!
According to the company, the inspiration for the new designs originated from the Renault R-Space concept car introduced at the Geneva Car Show in 2011. This led to the model being re-imagined with an exterior design of an “MPV-crossover”.

“We wanted to re-invent the Scenic to make it more sensual, more sporty,” the Megane Scenic family design director, Agneta Dahlgren.
The redesigned Scenic aimed to cater to family needs, sport, functionality, as well as sensuality.
That being said, the audience were big fans of the tight, sculpted line, honey-yellow colour and modular cubes of the passenger compartment in the vehicle.
According to Dahlgren, the R-Space’s steeply inclined windscreen had to be maintained on the upcoming Scenic.
For the interior, the passenger seats appear as if they are interlinked. Thanks to the 27 coloured cubes, the rear section is laid out like a modular play area.
“To create a production car that comes close to a concept car is no easy matter. It was hard, but the result speaks for itself,” she added.

Following that, some highlights of the new design include a 16 mm shorter rear overhang, an increased width of 20 mm, and an increased ground clearance of 40 mm.
In addition to that, all versions of the Scenic 4 have now been fitted with 20-inch wheels with Tall&Narrow tyres. Despite being a formidable technical challenge, the feature was the first in the entire segment.

Some highlights of the passenger compartment include a steeply sloping, three-part windscreen and panoramic sunroof and 63 litres of storage space, including a sliding console with 13 litres and an 'Easy Life' drawer-type glove compartment with an 11.5-litre capacity.
As for boot space, the short version comes with 572 litres, and the 5-seater extended version comes with 596 litres.
Next to that, a One-Touch Folding feature folds the rear seats down to create a flat floor. This feature can be accessed by a button in the boot or even from the R-Link multimedia system touchscreen.
“We are proud of the Scenic 4. It is the beauty of a car, a fine-looking MPV,” mentioned Dahlgren, in honour of celebrating the Scenic’s 25th birthday.
